Hairspray!

MEARNS ACADEMY MUSICAL SOCIETY is extremely proud to announce that they have been granted the performing rights and licence to stage a production of London's West End smash hit musical comedy "HAIRSPRAY".

The London production, starring Michael Ball and Nigel Planer is not yet released for amateurs but is on limited release to schools only.

The Musical Society is delighted to be able to take on this project and will hopefully involve the school community in cross curricular ventures in the coming months.

Mr D D Noble and Miss Angus, of the Musical Society, hope to be working with large casts and backstage teams in the coming sessions.

To give the production full justice, performances are scheduled for December 2010.

This is an extremely exciting project and more information will be released as the venture continues.

Hopefully the Mearns will be rocking to the sound of the 60's for the next few months!!
